Full Face Makeup: A How-To Guide

Nov 4

Full face makeup can seem like a daunting task, but with this guide, you'll be a pro in no time! Whether you're going for a natural look or want to glam it up, foundation, concealer, powder, blush, contour, eyeshadow, mascara, eyeliner, and lipstick are all your best friends. Just remember to start with a clean canvas (that means washing your face and using moisturizer!) and take your time. With practice, you'll be able to achieve any look you desire.

Foundation

Choose a foundation that matches your skin tone and provides the coverage you desire—whether that's light, medium, or full. To apply, use a brush or sponge to stipple the foundation onto your skin, starting from the center of your face and working outwards. If you need extra coverage in certain areas, don't be afraid to go over those areas again. Once you're satisfied with the coverage, use a clean brush or sponge to blend the foundation into your skin so there are no harsh lines.

Concealer

Got dark circles or blemishes? No problem! Choose a concealer that's one shade lighter than your foundation and apply it to those areas with a brush or your fingers. Gently pat the concealer into place and blend it until it's seamless.

Powder

Once you've applied your foundation and concealer, it's time to set everything in place with powder. This will help prevent shine and ensure your makeup lasts all day long. Apply powder all over your face with a brush or puff, paying special attention to oil-prone areas like your T-zone. Then lightly dust away any excess powder for a natural finish.

Blush

Give yourself some color with blush! Using a brush, sweep blush onto the apples of your cheeks and blend upwards towards your hairline. You can also put blush on your nose for an extra touch of color. Just be sure not to go overboard—a little goes a long way when it comes to blush.

Contour

If you want to add some dimension to your face, contouring is the way to go. Using a contouring kit (or bronzer if you don't have one), create a "3" shape on either side of your face starting from your forehead and going down along your cheekbones towards your jawline. Then use what's left on the brush to lightly contour along your nose for added definition. Finally, use a clean brush or sponge to blend everything together so there are no harsh lines.

Eyeshadow

Now it's time for eyeshadow! First, determine which colors you want to use—it can be helpful to choose three shades that complement each other: one light color (for highlighting), one medium color (for the lid), and one dark color (for definition in the crease). Using an eyeshadow primer will help ensure that the shadow goes on evenly and lasts all day long. To apply shadow like a pro, use an eyeshadow brush to sweep the lightest color under your brow bone as a highlight shade; then use the medium shade on your lid up until just below the crease; finally use the darker shade in the crease itself for definition before blending everything together with a clean brush. Shadow primer tip: if you wet your eyeshadow brush before dipping it into shadow pigment , will intensify shadow colors. Mascara  attention on lashes by curling them first using an eyelash curler . Start at base of lashes & hold for 10 seconds . wiggle back & forth as move up lash , being careful not pinch skin . second coat can applied top of first for extra volume. False eyelashes- types of false lashes available : strip lashes , individual cluster lashes , & flare lashes . Trim strip lash fit eye & apply adhesive along lash band .
